the loneliest planet

i heard that the moon

can't shine without the sun

he must truly believe that

she really is the One.

so what will happen when the time comes -

as we all know it must -

that the Sun flickers her last flame,

and slowly turns to dust?

will the moon weep softly to himself

in the night?

will he be able to live a life without her

and her beautiful, brilliant life?

maybe he'll be strong

and convince the other planets he's fine.

they'll all know the truth,

but he'll be content with his lie.

but maybe, just maybe,

the Sun's love was in vain.

she gave it all for him,

and yet he feels no pain.

he'll live in the dark

not remembering what he had

when the Sun shone so bright for him

that is drove her completely mad.

her light won't be missed,

for she was taken for granted

and the moon will continue to live on

as the loneliest planet.
